Cooking Minute Rice® Instant Brown Rice on the stove could not be simpler. First, boil your rice and water, reduce the heat and cover. Leave to simmer for around 10 minutes, or until the water has all been absorbed and then fluff.

Making Jasmine Rice on the stove has never been simpler with Minute Rice®. Boil your water and rice, stir and cover with a lid. Remove from the heat and leave for 5 minutes, or until the water has all been absorbed and fluff.

Can you Make Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Instant Rice in an Instant Pot?
Yes, you can make Minute Rice® Instant Rice in an instant pot. For white rice you’ll want to use an equal measure of water and rice. Stir the rice in the pot and set the Instant pot to ‘Manual’ > ‘High Pressure.’ Set a timer for 1 minute and vent the steam using ‘Quick Release.’ Remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
Can I use Liquids Other Than Water to Cook Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Instant Rice?
Yes, cooking Minute Rice® Instant Rice in other liquids to water is actually a great way to add a boost of flavour to your rice. You can try cooking your rice in:

Do I Have to Heat Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Ready to Serve Cups?
Minute Rice® Ready to Serve Cups come ready made, so heating isn’t actually required. That said, we do recommend heating these cups for best results.
Can Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Ready to Serve Cups be Prepared on the Stove?
Yes, Minute Rice® Ready to Serve Cups can be prepared on the stove. Empty the cup contents onto a pan and break up any clumps with a fork. Add a tablespoon of water and heat on a low setting while stirring until the rice is heated all the way through. Remove from the heat and serve.
What is the Best Way to Store Leftover Minute Rice<sup>®</sup>?
In the Fridge: Once cooked, Minute Rice® can be kept in the fridge for 3-5 days and reheated at 175°C until heated through. Keep stirring to avoid any sticking and feel free to add more liquid if you think it’s necessary.
In the Freezer: Once cooked, Minute Rice® dishes can be kept in the freezer for up to 2 months in a suitable container. Reheat these dishes at 205°C straight from the freezer until heated through. Be sure to keep an eye on the dish to prevent sticking and add any necessary liquid.
Can I Cook Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> at a High Altitude?
When cooking Minute Rice® at a higher altitude, you will want to increase the liquid to rice ratio to 2.5/1. You’ll also want to increase the cook time to 12-15 minutes and leave to sit for around 8 minutes afterwards.
How can I use a Rice Cooker to Cook Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Instant White Rice or Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Instant Brown Rice?
Follow the box measuring instructions for the appropriate number of servings when cooking rice in a rice cooker. Apply nonstick cooking spray to the rice cooker. Press the cook button after adding rice and water to the rice cooker. Once the rice is cooked, the cooker will shut off.
How can I prepare Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Instant White Rice for a big gathering to bake?
Preheat the oven to 95°C . Put the rice in an aluminum pan. Add the necessary amount of boiling water and cover with the coordinating aluminum lid or foil wrap to create a seal. Place the pan in the hot oven after turning the oven off, and leave it there for 10 minutes, or until the liquid has been absorbed.
Can I use the plastic Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Ready to Serve Cup again?
The ready to serve cups can, in a pinch, be used as measuring cups. When completely filled, the cup holds around 1 cup of liquid.
The cups are excellent for keeping little items as well (i.e. paper clips, screws, nails, rubber bands, etc.)
What can I do with cooked leftover Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Instant Rice ?

No, you do not have to rinse Minute Rice®.

Although Minute Rice® cooked on top of the stove only needs 5 minutes of cooking time, when using Minute Rice® in casseroles don’t adjust baking time.

The product remains secure and fresh thanks to the seal’s integrity. If you are having difficulties getting the film off, carefully cut around the inside edge of the lid with a knife or pair of scissors to get the film off completely.

Does Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> use pesticides on its rice?
We understand your inquiry regarding the use of pesticides, and we assure you that even though no agricultural commodity is ever completely free of pesticides, we test our products for pesticide residual on a regular basis. All pesticides used by farmers who supply rice to Riviana Foods facilities are approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and are only used according to label directions. To assure this, samples of rice purchased by Riviana Foods are analysed for pesticide residues in the Quality Assurance lab.
All of our products are maintained according to the regulations established by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Also, the importance of proper pesticide usage is continually being impressed upon rice farmers and silo operators by the United States Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Agency and the Environmental Protection Agency.
In addition to our caution toward pesticide residue, we are constantly testing and improving our products because we want to offer the best product possible.
Can I put Minute Rice<sup>®</sup> Instant Rice in a garbage disposal?
We DO NOT advise putting cooked or raw rice in your waste disposal. When you cook rice with water in a pan, it expands. Your plumbing and garbage disposal are no different.
